Former “American Idol” finalist Jessica Sierra was arrested early Sunday on felony battery charges for allegedly hitting a man on the head with a heavy glass at the Hyde Park Cafe in South Tampa.
She is also facing a charge of possession of cocaine and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
Sierra, age 21, was booked in the Hillsborough County Jail and the drugs were discovered while officers were searching her.
The singer, who was one of the show’s top performers in 2005, was released on Sunday afternoon on $11,500 bail. The man she struck reportedly received a cut over his eye.
