Reigning champion Street Sense struck the front at the top of Churchill Downs stretch under regular rider Calvin Borel and extended his lead over Hard Spun to score a 2 �-length victory in the 133^rd running in the Kentucky Derby.

Attendees of high profile parties and galas got the opportunity to make a flashy entrance to Churchill Downs. For the first time ever, celebrities waltzed down a red carpet upon their arrival to the Kentucky Derby. The red carpet, of course, took on a distinct flavor for the event; underneath a logo emblazoned green backdrop sat a thin layer of red rose petals.
