Father’s Day, MC Hammer and War

mc-hammer.jpg

Blame Hallmark. Their Father’s Day commercial featuring MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” got me wondering what the erstwhile rapper has been up to since he squandered his multi million dollar fortune.

Hammer became a preacher in the 90’s but on his blog he lists his occupation as entertainment. He recently released a new song, “Bring Our Brothers Home,” a commentary on the war in Iraq, and I must admit, not bad at all. I was actually quite moved by the video. Definitely worth a look, so in addition to the aforementioned Hallmark commercial and a blast from the past look at “Can’t Touch This,” I am posting the new video as well.

Happy Father’s Day to all you dad’s out there and especially those of you serving our country who can’t be with your families today. Godspeed.
