Breaking News: Benoit Text Messages Released
I don’t mean to drive this story into the ground, but it just keeps on getting more and more bizarre. Just before hanging himself with cord from a piece of his workout equipment, Chris Benoit sent a series of text messages from his own cell phone, as well as his wife’s, who by then as we know, was already dead.
Below are the times and content of text messages Benoit sent to co-workers, as first reported by WWE:
- 3:53 AM - Chris Benoit’s cell phone: “My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215″
- 3:53 AM - Chris Benoit’s cell phone: “The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open.”
- 3:54 AM - Nancy Benoit’s cell phone: “My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayeteville Georgia. 30215″
- 3:55 AM - Nancy Benoit’s cell phone: “My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215″
- 5:58 AM - Nancy Benoit’s cell phone: “My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayeteville Georgia. 30215″

I think it is probable things occurred as reported. That doesn’t make him a villain or a murderer. It isn’t murder if you are under the influence of drugs and steroids can have devastating effects on personality. Instead look closer at who gave him the steroids, or who put so much pressure on him to perform that he felt it necessary to use them to augment his abilities. Maybe he saw it as take ‘roids or get fired sooner or later.
