Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon applied for and were granted a marriage license in Las Vegas this Saturday afternoon.

Earlier in the month, Anderson told TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that she was �engaged.�

Though the former �Baywatch� star declined to reveal the identity of her suitor to Ellen, she did note he was a poker player.

Anderson�has posted on her blog that she is happy, healthy and having the best time of her life. Salomon was formerly married to Shannen Doherty�and was behind the camera of the Paris Hilton sex tape. Good luck with that…

David Hans Schmidt, 47, who agreed to plead guilty to extortion of Tom Cruise, was found dead in his townhouse�of suicide. He had been in contact with Cruise’s management regarding�photos of Cruise and Katie Holmes from their wedding in Italy last year.

His attorney, Nancy Kardon, said she had spoken to Schmidt earlier this week and was preparing for an Oct. 11 hearing in federal court where he would enter his formal guilty plea to attempted extortion. She said she had planned to ask for probation.

Schmidt also peddled Paris Hilton‘s photos, diaries�and personal items from the LA locker she didn’t pay her bill on and said to broker a deal to release the sex tape of Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved by the Bell,) and of Toyna Harding, the disgraced former Olympic skater, from her wedding night.

Ok! Magazine is reporting former American Idol contestant Katherine McPhee, 23, is recently engaged to�actor Nick Cokas, 42.

“They’re definitely engaged,” a source on the set of Kat’s upcoming film, House Bunny, tells OK!. “They’ve been talking about it for some time.”

Cokas is a broadway performer and met McPhee while they were working on The Ghost and Mrs Muir production.�

Shakira is generously donating time and money to help areas in Latin America that have gone without attention. Announcing this at the Clinton Global Initiative conference in New York this week, the singer will put her money to help natural disaster areas and educational needs.

According to reports, $40 million will be given to the regions of Peru and Nicaragua, where disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes have left severe damages.

The remainder will be put towards educational projects for children who live in poverty and can not afford to get proper schooling in Latin American countries.

Shakira is also co-founder of another charitable organization, ALAS. A beautiful woman with a�big heart.

Dave Navarro, former�guitarist for Jane’s Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers,� co-host with Brooke Burke�of the �reality TV show, Rock Star, and formerly married to Carmen Electra, is moving into the world of adult entertainment.

Navarro says “Broken,” starring bisexual actress Sasha Grey, is “an erotic tale of sexual duality” that will push the boundaries of adult movies.

Country crooner and former Dancing With The Stars participant, Sara Evans, 35, has been granted a divorce from her estranged husband, Craig Scheleske, 43.�Evans dropped out of DWTS last season when the two began the acrimonious split.�The two have decided�to put the past behind them.�Evans was granted the divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

��The parties have agreed that it is in their best interests and those of their children to amicably resolve all issues in their pending divorce. Each wishes the other well in all future endeavors. Both parties are fully committed to raising their children in a cooperative and positive way,� the papers state.

Evans agreed to pay her ex-husband an alimony sum of $500,000 and he gets the two houses in Oregon that they shared. She gets the house in Tennessee. The couple was married for 13 years with 3 children who can now google the accusations of pornography and multiple affairs that they�levelled against each other. Ain’t love grand?

As part of her plea agreement, new mom-to-be Nicole Richie has enrolled in the SB 38 alcohol program; an 18 month course of anti-drunk driving education. This program is for repeat offenders within a seven year period.

Nicole has been arrested twice for DUI, once in July 2002 and the second on December 11 of last year when Nicole drove her car in the wrong direction on the Southern California highway.

In a recent interview with Diane Sawyer, Nicole, with baby father Joel Madden, claims she has given up everything: drink, drugs and no smoking around her.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez who is currently on�probation after pleading no contest to DUI and driving with a suspended license may end up back in the slammer because she has not completed her community service to the judge’s satisfaction.

The City Attorney’s office alleges that Rodriguez turned in a false document showing that she completed one day of service on Sept. 25, court filings show. However, the actress later stated that she was in New York on that date.

In May of last year, Rodriguez spent 4 hours in jail for violating probation in another DUI case and earlier this year, she spent 2 days in a Hawaiian jail for�the DUI arrest.
