Of Perez Hilton and The Fashionista Diaries!

Another week, another article about Ms. Hilton, who has once again managed to make the magazine covers. Ms. Hilton’s popularity has soared over the last year or so.

Only this time we aren’t talking about Paris Hilton.  We are talking about another Hilton, Ms. Perez Hilton.  Yep. You heard it right. Perez Hilton is punk. He’s also gay.  And he rules.  Had he actually been born a woman, he wouldn’t be any cooler than he is now.

What makes Perez Hilton cool?  Easy.  What made The Beatles cool way back in the day of Hard Day’s Nights and, later, Yellow Submarines and ladies named Lucy in the skies with diamonds?  The fact that they defied society.  And while defying society in fashion is not always good (ask Cameron Diaz after her Peru snafu), sometimes you have to be defiant and rebellious, because many times, those that rebel leave the longest lasting impressions, ala Jimmy Dean and Dennis Rodman.  Pope John Paul II, the greatest Pope of all time without a question, had a chance to become a rebellious Pope and do the right thing by allowing women to become Popes, but he didn’t do it.  Perez Hilton has done his thing, becoming the queen of irreverent, trash talking while being that good old, punk dressed confidante we all needed for such a long time.  Hopefully, sometime I can be the King of trash talking myself, although a marriage between me and Ms. Perez Hilton is a very, very far away possibility, specially when I keep loading in women and dreaming about them.

I will have to say this about Perez: On a national magazine recently, the one where he appeared on the cover, he had the guts to come and say he is gay.  I know, I know…like, we didn’t know that!!! Still, he has the courage to live life his way in a society that condems rather quickly, forgetting that principle that Jesus our own very Lord said in The Bible about the first person to be clean of sins.  Knowing how unforgiving this country can be, Perez Hilton did probably the most manly thing he’s ever done, demonstrating he indeed has tough huevos, basically telling everyone he’s gay and he doesn’t care about what others think.  Well, here’s what I think, Perez: Power to you and respect for feeling that way!

Talking of feelings, have you seen The Fashionista Diaries? I have been watching that show on the Soap Opera Channel and I feel it’s one of the best shows since Sex and The City.

Well, guess what, girls?  According to the show’s latest installment, pink is back!!! I always loved pink as a dressing color choice because pink is the most feminine color there is and so you can’t go wrong with pink if you are a girl just like you can’t go wrong with a Black suit if you are a guy.  Well, unless you make yourself look like one of those cakes in clear pink, that is.

The girls on The Fashionista Diaries are girlie, they are super cool, they don’t drool and they are hot!! Specially that Black lady on the show.  I don’t know how sexy you think Black people are, but when I go to K-Mart, I always eagerly daydream about the moment they say “attention K-Mart customers, there are special people in the Black girl section for the next ten minutes!” I actually had a Black girlfriend for a long time, Ms. La’Shel Lovejoy, probably the best person I’ve ever met.

Back to The Fashionista Diaries’ fashions, like I said, all the clamor last week was for pink outfits which makes me happy.  Then, just to be confirmed, I went to the local Safeway’s supermarket and Elle’s magazine had, guess what? A blond girl wearing a pink dress on the cover!! My, my, I thought, hope is still not lost yet!!

I will be in Puerto Rico for the next five days, leaving Friday night.  There, I guarantee, me and my baby maker will be deeply entertained by the mami’s walking on the beach with bikinis on! Also I will be picking up tips on current tropical fashion  that hopefully I can tell you about soon after.

Until then, ladies, love to you all!
