‘The Queen’ Gets A Sequel

 The Queen Movie

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan will pen a sequel to the Academy Award winning movie The Queen, starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth and Michael Sheen as Tony Blair. The movie will focus on Blair’s relationship with both the Clinton and the Bush administrations.

The movie will focus on Blair’s reaction to the handover of power between Clinton, a natural liberal ally, and Bush, who came from the other end of the political spectrum.

“Peter sees this as a pivotal moment when the special relationship between Britain and America changed,” says producer Andy Harries.

Morgan has a ton of projects in the pipeline including, State of Play, reuniting Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. If you haven’t seen The Queen, do it. It truly was a great film about the Royal Family and the Prime Minister from a unique point in history.
