Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey at Autism Fundraiser
Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey attended a fundraiser at a private home recently to raise money for autism research. Dr. David Feinberg of UCLA (and supporter of the early autism intervention program) remarked that McCarthy was “his hero” for her work on autism awareness.
So impressed was Feinberg with McCarthy’s efforts, he said, that his son used her as a subject for a school paper on heroes. In researching his essay, the youngster was instructed by his father “to Google” McCarthy, whose resumé includes being a Playboy Playmate.
This got a laugh from the audience and a rise out of Carrey who leapt to his feet, shot an Ace Ventura glower around the room and then fixed his eyes on Feinberg.
“What’s your son doing Googling my girlfriend?” Carrey demanded to know.
McCarthy has a 5 year old son, Evan, with autism and she has referred to Carrey as “the autism whisperer.” Cute story of two people who appear very much in love and who are supporting each other.

“Cute”?
How about some more coverage of how these people are destroying the health of millions of children with their anti-vaccine rhetoric?
Where’s their kid? He’s 5. All I ever see these days is “McCarthy and Carey doing x in public”… without Evan. Who is taking care of him? Apparently this “concerned mother” isn’t that concerned about spending time with her son… I also love that she insists that it wasn’t the year-long early intervention ABA therapy that “cured” his autism (there is no cure, or we’d be hearing more stories like hers!), but the regimen of GFCF diet, chelation, vitamin therapy, etc that she put him through. Clearly, this child made some progress and I am pleased that she was able to help her son but I wish she’d stop insisting he’s “recovered” as though autism is some kind of temporary illness. I also want to see her show him off more – if he’s actually not autistic any more, why isn’t he joining his mother on talk shows, etc? You’d think a normal 5 year old would love the attention…
