Oprah Apologizes For Leadership School Abuses

Oprah Winfrey at Academy Opening

A tearful Oprah Winfrey cancelled all her appointments this week to fly to South Africa and talk directly to the parents of the girls at her school, Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy. Amid allegations of abuse by a counselor employeed by the Academy, Winfrey begged for forgiveness.

“I’ve disappointed you. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry,” the talk-show queen told families in an emergency meeting at the South African school in Henley-on-Klip, south of Johannesburg, the South African news site News24.com reported.

Winfrey reportedly gave the girls her personal phone number, email address and mailing address so they could get in touch with her 24 hours a day.
