People’s Choice Awards: Nominees and Predictions
The nominations are in! Here are a few of them, along with some BSC preditions of who will–and should–win.
Best Sci-Fi Show:

- Stargate Atlantis
Who will win: Battlestar Galactica
Who should win: Doctor Who, because the cheesy effects make for a helluva good campy show.
Favorite Hip-Hop Song:
- “Party Like a Rock Star”–Shop Boyz
- “Stronger”–Kanye West
- “Give it to Me”–Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake
Who will win: Kanye West
Who should win: Kanye West. We don’t want to see any more diva fits outta Kayne!
Favorite Reunion Tour
- Genesis
- The Police
- Van Halen
Who will win: The Police
Who should win: The Police…more that twenty years later, and they still rock!
Favorite Animated Comedy:
- The Simpsons
- King of the Hill
- Family Guy
Who will win: Family Guy
Who should win: King of the Hill. KotH has remained consistently funny over the years, whereas Family Guy and The Simpsons seem to be grasping at straws and taking cheap shots for bad jokes.
Favorite Rock Song:
- “Hey There Delilah”–Plain White Ts
- “Home”–Daughtry
- “Makes Me Wonder”–Maroon 5
Who will win: Plain White Ts
Who should win: I find all of these songs equally horrible.
Favorite Pop Song
- “Big Girls Don’t Cry”–Fergie
- “Irreplaceable”–Beyonce
- “What Goes Around…Comes Around”–Justin Timberlake
Who will win: Fergie
Who should win: Fergie…it was the summer chick anthem heard ’round the world!
Favorite New TV Comedy
- Aliens in America
- Back to You
- The Big Bang Theory
- Car Poolers
- Cavemen
- Chuck
- Reaper
- Samantha Who?
Who will win: Chuck
Who should win: Tie–Aliens in America and Reaper. Both are refreshingly original, whereas Chuck is a bad ripoff of Jake 2.0
Favorite TV Comedy:
- King of Queens
- My Name is Earl
- Two and a Half Men
Who will win: My Name is Earl
Who should win: The Office My Name is Earl
Favorite Game Show:
- Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?
- Deal or No Deal
- Jeopardy!
Who will win: Deal or No Deal, because Howie Mandell’s made a little deal of his own. With the devil.
Who should win: Jeopardy! This show’s been around forever, and it’s still the best game show of all time. Trivia trumps chance every time!
Favorite Competition/Reality Show
- American Idol
- Dancing with the Stars
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Who will win: American Idol
Who should win: American Idol. They keep us in supply of mental breakdowns, cranky Brits with man-boobs, and William Hungs.
