Dennis Quaid’s Newborn Twins in Intensive Care

Dennis Quaid

Actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly Buffington, have been through quite an ordeal with Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles recently. The pair and their surrogate gave birth to twins on November 8th and now the infants are in the neo-natal care unit due to an overdose of anti-coagulant medicine.

Sources tell us the twins — Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace — were accidentally given a massive dose of Heparin, an anti-coagulant. Babies typically get 10 units. Our sources say they were each mistakenly given 10,000 units. The drug is used to flush out IV lines and prevent blood clots. We’re told one dose was given on Sunday morning, another on Sunday evening.

It seems more than one patient was given this wrong dosage because the medicine was stored in the wrong place. Unfortunately, because the infants are so tiny it is extremely serious for them. Well wishes and thoughts to the Quaid family.
