The Secret Life of Zoey Zane
Zoey Zane (photos) is bigger and more famous today than Emily Sander ever thought she would probably be. Sander is the college student who became a small time internet porn star until the last few days. That is when she was reported missing.
Most of her friends and family had no clue she led the secret life of an internet porn/sex star. Her friends said she had aspirations of acting and being in Hollywood. One can argue if being an internet porn star is acting, but it does make many women feel important and special. It can also be a great way for a broke college kid to make some great money.
The tragic story of Emily Sander/Zoey Zane is not all that uncommon. Women who strip or work in the adult industry have been known to disappear or deal with shady perverts, with more social issues than Charles Manson, who snap and go psycho on them because of rejection or an ego struggle.
There is a suspect in this case. A man, Israel Mireles, who met Zane at a bar and left with her. He never returned to work and blood was found all over his apartment when it was searched by police. He nor Zane have yet to be located.
Tragically this disappearance likely won’t have a happy ending. We can hold out hope and should pray for Emily, but the writing is on the wall. Her body may or might not be found, but it is likely her secret lifestyle of being an internet porn star led to her disappearance and probably her death.

Russell (if he really is a Christian) obviously doesn’t understand that while the Christianity is about God’s love and grace, God is not some benevolent softy who is divorced from moral standards. While I feel deeply sorry for what happened to Miss Sander (as a father of two young girls) lets not get confused over the fact that she still chose to live a sinful life and reaped it’s consequences.
Russell, you do not know if she is with God. (unless you are God) Hopefully she had a relationship with Christ.

While I agreed with all your other points, you are not a woman and have never been an exotic dancer, so please refrain from speaking for them. You are way off course with what you imagine.
There is a tremendous backlash against the oppression of patriarchal culture that makes exotic dancing empowering for a young woman, though I stress ‘young woman’ as this was a girl initiated too young with no frame of reference by which to judge people as safe or not.
Also, that 38 year old former dancer you imagine is probably not only in hot-damn shape, but an inspiration to younger women because most dancers leave the temple of Venus, and go on to other interests and careers (some funded by their dancing). She keeps her figure. She never forgets that roomfuls of men worshiped her as an embodiment of the goddess in the temple of Venus. She treasures her memories of her time there.
It is a form of initiation that marks you different than before, and different from those not called to the temple of Venus. Females in a patriarchal society could go from cradle to bride, to matronhood to grave without ever experiencing this initiation into primal feminine power, what the Indians called ‘Shakti’. That is what men in a patriachal culture would want for them because they fear it, and on a certain level they envy it. It is too powerful for them to keep up the illusion that they are the dominant sex (a patriarchal construct maintained with violence).
They would have the Madonna/whore paradigm instead of one where women are whole and integrated. There could be no relationship based on power and domination with them if they owned their power. One would have to respect their power and meet them as lovers and equals, even in the platonic sense. And if they are overwhelmed? Well, that is the nature of beauty, nature, and The Muse.
Dancing gives women an integration of the power of the feminine as attracting force of primal power which is an inversion of what she had to deal with growing up in a patriarchal society where she was repressed and controlled. She finds to her amazement that she can marry the intellectual to the body. And far from being embarrassing, nothing could be further from the truth. It is very healing. It is a gift, a pearl she gathers for herself. This is something that she takes with her for always.
Power is never given. It is taken. She took her power. It was hers to claim. What that vile little macho runt did was act out violently as though her having ‘her’ power took power away from him - and the only way he could reclaim his was to destroy her. This is not only ignorant and pathetic, it comes from infantile narcissistic rage and essential weakness of spirit.
What that man who killed Zoey/Emily did was act out his own male-inferior inner psycho-drama against the perceived power of this young woman whose sexuality/beauty/free spirit held power over him and challenged his false image of male dominion and entitlement.
It is very similar to the Taliban or other psychotic males acting out when females are seen as ‘uncontrolled, too powerful, out of place’ - but which is really just being, expressing themselves, owning their bodies minds and spirits as men take for granted for themselves.
I hope they find this little wretch who took a young girl’s life just as she was entering into womanhood, and that he is given a man’s justice. I hope that men who honor the goddess in women crack his head open and spill his blood. He should be disowned by men. He is a shame to your kind.

Let us not be so quick to judge her. Apparently she found herself in a position we could all find ourselves in sooner or later. Getting less money for our labor, less time for our talent, less credit for our accomplishments and less love than we deserve. So back off all of you self-righteous finger pointers.
