One of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood, Jodie Foster and her longtime companion Cydney Bernard, has finally been publicly acknowledged by Foster. The actress has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep her personal life just that, private and personal since the assasination attempt on then president Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley Jr. to impress her.

The star is regularly seen out with film producer Cydney Bernard, and the couple have been raising Foster’s two children Charles, nine, and six-year-old Kit.

She made the acknowledgment after receiving an award by the Hollywood Reporter at a Power 100 breakfast last week.

She thanked “my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss.”

It’s nice to see Foster comfortable enough to acknowledge her relationship. I know she is someone who really likes her privacy but it’s great to see her revel in her happiness. So many other child stars turn out so badly.
