‘America’s Most Smartest Model’ Andre is Pissed!
With the season finale of VH1’s America’s Most Smartest Model premiering this weekend, are we already getting a glimpse of who’s not going to win? Thus far it’s been looking like the Cold War part two, with Soviet Andre Birleanu warring against All-American VJ Logan. I’ve been rooting for Andre simply because he’s the most entertaining person to watch on this patronizing show, but I’ve been perplexed as to how he would win the contract with VO5, considering they sell hair products, and he has no hair. Nevertheless, Page Six is reporting that VH1 did Andre dirty, and he is not a happy Russian!
The notoriously aggressive contestant of the VH1 show, which tests flighty models on their brains and their brawn, told Page Six that the cable network is responsible for “destroying” him.
Birleanu was arrested Oct. 25 after two women claimed he molested them at Cipriani Downtown. He said VH1 has instructed him not to respond to the allegations.
Birleanu’s lawyer, Ryan Blanch, called the claims against his client “a conspiracy” and said, “We have witnesses who will testify and clear his name in court, and prove these allegations are entirely unfounded.”
The Moscow-born Boss model is still miffed at VH1, however, and told us he wants out of his contract - which expires in July - immediately.
Birleanu griped, “VH1 has not allowed me to comment to the press or to clear my name. They tell me not to say anything, but then they don’t stand up for me.”
He said that the bad press has already cost him some high-profile modeling gigs. “I lost a billboard campaign in the middle of Times Square for South Pole. I lost a photo shoot with Target, and a Calvin Klein ad . . . it has been terrible for my career,” he grumbled.
Birleanu, who’s known for getting in heated arguments on “America’s Most Smartest Model” and boasting of his superiority over other contestants, said he didn’t mind the attention from the papers and paparazzi during his court appearance. “I am a model,” he said. “I love the pictures. But VH1 needs to release me from my contract now - I am hot now.
“I had a great career before the show, and now I am losing a lot because of VH1. I made them money and they destroyed me.”
Birleanu is also upset that VH1 asked him not to come to a wrap party for the show tomorrow in Los Angeles in light of his arrest. “It is a party for me, and they told me I can not come,” he said.
A VH1 spokesperson responded, “That’s funny. We thought the party was for Sunday’s season finale - not him.”
Well, that was a pretty low blow, VH1! If the party was for the show’s season finale, and Andre is one of the top two contenders and a big reason many viewers tune in, then ISN’T the party kinda for him? Rock on, Andre; America still loves you!

This is really scary. I never thought Andre could actually win, but he makes it sound like he did. I am activating my prayer chain this evening to intercede on VJ’s behalf.
The show is called, “America’s most smartest model”. andre should not win because he is a walking billboard for the Soviet Union. If he loves the Soviet Union so bad he should buy himself a one way ticket and stay there. Vj is the one to win. Because of his sneaky tricks, his cutthroat personality, I think he should win. Well isn’t these values that make up this capitalist world???? Go Vj!!!!!!!!!
Man forget VJ! In order to win you have to be both intelligent and a good model. Andre is obviously a better model than VJ can ever hope to be! And as for “Activating a prayer chain” you selfish piece of shit don’t you think God has better things to do in the world? Nah, forget the thousands of starving and impoverished people, (especially during the holiday season) God needs to focus on making VJ win! As for Captain America, dude… That is the sorriest drivel I’ve ever read, “VJ is the one to win. Because of his sneaky tricks, his cutthroat personality, I think he should win. Well isn’t these values that make up this capitalist world?” You should be ashamed not only for the fact that your grammar is horrendous but the fact that you support such things. At least Andre probably knows why he’s proud, but do you? Do your self a favor and take a history class to find out what the foundation of this great country was and how America has, for lack of a better term, shit on so many others to gain the upper hand.

This show was rigged from the beginning for a reason. Andre is the clear winner of this game show because he kept his integrity all throughout the season and stuck up for his team mates, even though he came off as a jerk at times. On the other hand VJ snaked his way to the top. Remember folks, this is “Americas Most Smartest Model” not “Americas Snakiest Model”. VJ made is way to the top by cutting corners , and that should have disqualified him right there, anywhere from sabotaging his competitors, cheating on the treadmill run and so fourth. As a model, it is your duty to be the one that others look up to, and by giving VJ the grand prize, VH1 is saying it is Ok to cut corners, it is ok to sabotage your competitors, it is ok to cheat. This is not the message we should be sending to our youth. Yes Andre had his soviet thing going on, but it shows us that we can grow in this country and be proud of our heritage. There were metaphorical/political meanings to the show as well… who would let a proud soviet born Russian WIN over a US born American on an American TV show… DUH.
(About the rape arrest) In his own defense, Birleanu said, “I already slept with that girl, so it’s strange she would say I touched her inappropriately.” Oh right, we forgot, once you sleep with someone they are yours forever! Another fun fact about Andre. When he was arrested, he was out on bail after being charged with stalking, aggravated harassment and attempted assault; in 2003, he spent 6 months at Rikers. Already on bail for stalking, aggravated harassment, and attempted assault? Hmm sound like he might be heading back to Rikers to me.
I totally agree with John. Finally… someone with an IQ higher than that of mashed potatoes! It’s a shame that VJ won, he isn’t a good model and he isn’t smart. Oh and thank you Jebbica, I take that as a compliment. And as far as the sexual harassment, I don’t know about you, Linda, but I’d let Andre grab my boob! Not that any average Joe could get away with that though, I’m an uber bitchy prude. ^.^
Andre was supposed to win. The party that Ass Vh-1 is throwing is having VJ come, but he must be naked the entire time
Brett should have won I think he was a great model and great person to have represnting a product your trying to sell. And that VH1 representatives comment was rude. Your show ended up sucking anyways so it didn;t deserve a party. And just so Paul L knows there is no Soviet Union anymore so Andre cant go back.

The producers only let Andre get to the finale because he was funny as hell to watch! He had the whole modelling thing going on, he was truly a fierce competitor and had THE attitude. Or was it more fun to let him get as high as he could before they took him down? Face it, the judges recognized his skills but were never really fond of Andre, in fact I don’t think they liked him at all. VH1 contests are a bitch. I bet Tyra Banks would have handled VJ`s sneaky ways better tan Mary Alice. C’mon there’s a set of rules in every respectable contest. John has a point, God forbid that a self proclaimed proud Russian win an American contest over All-american not even college-dropout VJ right?
