Eternal Moonshine of The Simpson Mind

The Simpsons

Nineteen seasons and some say that The Simpsons have overstayed their welcome; however if you caught tonight’s episode; The Eternal Moonshine of The Simpson Mind, you may have walked away with renewed hope for the series, much like what the movie did to reinvigorate the show this summer. With elements from It’s A Wonderful Life and Total Recall, as well as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, this episode had some great sequences. Professor Fink’s design called the Deja Viewmaster was great and Patty and Selma pushing Homer off the bridge – classic.

Bart’s blackboard task: The capital of Montana is not “Hannah” – brilliant!

I watched this tonight for once! I couldn’t decide if it was funny b/c I was like, this is familiar…it’s like “It’s a Wonderful Life” meets “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”! I didn’t know they titled the episode that, though that is a great title!

Can anyone tell me what the name of the song was at the end of that episode )(Eternal Moonshine…), unless I’m confusing an earlier episode at 7pm. It’s a great song from the 70′s (?) with an excellent guitar riff, with the main lyrics being, ” I give my love to you” (or I pladge my love to you?). Anyway, if anyone can let me know, much appreciated! Jim
