There Will Be No Actors at the Golden Globes this Year

The Golden Globes

The Screen Actors Guild officially announced on Friday that none of its members would appear at the Golden Globes.

No actors, no clips, and no banter? What’s the point? What are they going to do, bring a bunch of reality stars to parade about in faux couture?

SAG released the following statement about their decision:

“After considerable outreach to Golden Globe actor nominees and their representatives over the past several weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America writers.”

NBC announced on Friday that the Golden Globes telecast is scheduled to go on regardless next Sunday.  Sounds boring!

Tell me about it, our family now has a new tradition, we sit in the living room with the TV off, and read. It really has brought our family together. Thanks WGA & SAG! :)

Someone needs to fly Margret Thatcher to yank land. When our unions were on strike, she just shot each and every last one of them.

And that’s how you deal with the unwashed masses son.

You guys should read an article in Entertainment Weekly that ran last week…it was something like, “2007 Was the Year the Writer’s Strike Gave Me My Family Back,” or something to that effect. It was like, thanks to no TV, my kids and I play board games, and my wife and I aren’t rushing to get our kids to bed so we can catch ‘Ugly Betty’. I think that’s pretty much the general consensus. Once we’re without our favorite shows for awhile, we realize, hey, there’s life beyond the tube! :-)

SAG sucks! They’re just filled with over-paid, over-rated, talentless hacks anyways. Just like Hoffa, I wish these “teamsters” would disappear!
