Heath Ledger’s Family Planning His Wake At the Beach

Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger’s family is planning to hold a wake for the actor at Cottesloe Beach in Perth on Saturday and Heath’s friends have already started to arrive. According to Heath’s father, Kim, the family wanted to pay tribute to Heath at one of his favorite places, the beach where he grew up and learned to surf.

Paul Mullert, who grew up with the actor in the western Australian city, recalled to the Australian Times how Heath was “the quintessential Australian, who loved nothing more [than] slipping on a pair of boardies and his [flip-flops] and heading to Cottesloe Beach.”

The actor even talked about the beach during a visit to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002, while promoting his film, The Four Feathers. The story, in which he detailed a man being attacked by a shark, strangely earned laughs from Jay and the audience.

Let’s hope that Heath is resting in peace now…he sure deserves it.
