Is Kat Von D a Racist?

Kat Von D Racist

I’m no handwriting expert, but this autographed photo is clearly some kind of joke or was written in by someone other than Kat Von D, who is getting heat over being a “racist.”  Seriously, if she were racist or really wrote this, why would she say “Burn in Hell,” and then follow it up with “XOXO”?  I think someone added that in trying to start some drama.  The line with the swastika was clearly written on top of her signature…the pen is heavier where it was added in!  I’m just sayin’!

From TMZ:

TMZ has obtained the photograph in question, a headshot of Kat that reads, “Burn in hell Jewbag.” No one witnessed Kat write the message, but Chris Garver, another tattoo artist on “Miami Ink,” tells TMZ Kat personally handed him the photo.

When Ami, who is Jewish, received the photo, sources tell us he went to TLC and was rebuffed. We’re told after Ami had a lawyer intervene, TLC went to a handwriting analyst who concluded “there is a 99% probability that Kat Von D” wrote the message. In early July 2007, Avi’s lawyer went to TLC with the analysis. They simply sent him a letter back that acknowledged receiving the results and said, “We trust that this information will be kept strictly confidential.”

When contacted about the photo, Ami told TMZ he wasn’t as offended by the photo as he was by the indifference toward it, saying, “What is more devastating to me, and much more shameful is when people ignore something like this for the sake of the money or self-interest. That is the real ‘punch in the gut.’”

TLC gave TMZ this statement: “A publicity photo was brought to the network’s attention eight months ago that contained extraordinarily offensive language. A full investigation was immediately conducted to determine whether anyone associated with the network was involved. Kat vehemently denied authoring the text and after completing the investigation, it was determined that insufficient evidence existed to conclude that she had. Therefore, no disciplinary action was taken. The network always takes these matters seriously and follows what we believe to be an appropriate course of action as dictated by the circumstances and available information.”

Kat’s personal publicist issued this statement: “The recent accusation of a publicity photo of me with offensive and anti-semitic comments and graphics allegedly written by me is completely false and unfounded, and clearly a forgery. This was already proven many months ago to be 100 percent untrue. I always have been, and will continue to be an advocate for tolerance of all races, religions and ways of life.”

What do you think? Is Kat Von D the next Mel Gibson, or is this a fake?

This is obviously a fake, and who ever tried to frame her with such obscenity is sick. No, evil.

  2. Kat didn't do it

FAKE! So obvious. Ami must be desperate and definitely insecure. Too bad. It’s not going to make people like him more.

totally agree that this is wrong, and pretty obviously fake… just wanted to point out though, that i see no swastica, but a star of david. just saying…

Kat obviously did not do this. And Shannon - look at the bottom of the signature. There is a swastika there.

I highly doubt this to be true. Kat wouldn’t jeopardize her career or reputation with such b.s. For all we know maybe it was somebody from Ami’s camp trying to start something becasue L.A. ink kicks miam’s A$$!!!!

It is a rediculous ploy to bring down someone that is starting to take off. If these individuals are that insecure to make up this kind of crap, they should at least be more imaginative. Now they just look foolish, and no one will ever believe them again.
Kat - this is the sign that you are BIG TIME and your competitors can’t deal with it, Keep Strong…

She wrote it during a drug binge before leaving to her beloved LA, and thouhgt at the time for it to be funny. Never really expecting it to get out. She should be honest and apoligize for her immaturity. If you watched her on the final episodes of that season you can’t deny that she acted immature and disrespectful. Denying what she did will hurt her in the end. And if any of you idiots knew a thing about ratings she has bombed both seasons. Do the research Maybe she needs the publicity to pick up on people watching her show.

How immaturely she acted when she was asked by the Teutels to tattoo them. How even on her OWN SHOW she leaves a multi million album selling artist waiting for hours at her shop because she was too hungover to tattoo him. And the fact that Chris Garver says she gave it to him, are all indications that say to me she probably did it. Oh yeah, and who could forget the handwriting analysis?

a drug binge? your an idiot, find me proof of that before you start going on a stupid, false tangent. the fact that she left the show proves her maturity level, she could have stayed on the show getting more show time and publicity b/c at them time of her departure she had no guarentee of her own show. regradless of her ratings, her ratings are still above that of miami ink and she has probably gotten many many many more clients due to the show.

the hangover thing is valid although she has now gone sober and no longer drinks. the fact that she doenst place “multi million album selling artists” above the normal person might even say something about her characater, that she has not sold out. and the fact that chris garver says she gave it to him herself are all indications that she probably DIDNT do it! why the hell would she risk her career and reputation by giving it to him herself? thats ludacris.

and for all we know the hand writing analysis was bogus. the fact that the only party present to witness it done was miami ink people, there was no neutral party. for all we know not only could the hand anaylzer be falsifying information but the entire results could be fake, i woudnt put it past ami and his crew to do something like that.

Not sold out?! Have you actually gone to a convention that she has appeared in? She charges $400 an hour for a portrait. Do you think she was pulling in that kind of money before she was on Miami Ink? I doubt it. You act like Ami James and Chris Garver have something to gain by staging all of this. They did it all out of jealousy? Why would she risk her career by doing something stupid like this? Who knows.

We’ve all done things in life that we wished we hadn’t done. Why is she any different? Why couldn’t she have done this? What do you base your arguments on? The fact that she says she didn’t do it? OJ says he didn’t do it too.

TO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO LIFE AND LOVE TO TALK s*** ABOUT KAT (someone you’ve NEVER met)-
IF GARVER GAVE STORY TO TMZ, WHERE’S THE FOOTAGE OR TAPED PHONE CONVERSATION OF HIM TELLING THEM? THEY RECORD EVERYTHING ELSE, BUT THEY JUST SO HAPPENED NOT TO HAVE ANY PROOF OF THIS?…hmm
ALSO, TO ALL YOU WRITING TLC TO PULL HER SHOW, NOTICE HOW THEY PLAYED A 4 HOUR BLOCK OF IT WEDNESDAY AND ANOTHER EPISODE LAST NIGHT? That shows what THEY think of your ill-advised opinions.
how long do you think miami stINK will stay on the air?

Kat and Chris Garver go back a long way even before Miami Ink was on, He was the one who handed the picture to Ami, I’m sorry but that proves to me that she did it, I don’t see Chris doctoring up the photo before giving it to Ami.
When Kat got fired I hate to say because I am a huge fan of hers but she deserved it she was always badmouthing the shop, coming in late or not showing at all and her whole work attitude sucked, so if you were Ami (no matter what you think of him personally) what would you have done???
    EXACTLY!!!

I cant believe that you guys can say it is very obvious that its a fake, when a writing analyst
says its a 99% probability that kat wrote it, and why would Garver make something like that up, what would he have to gain? also the writing was on the pic when she handed it to Garver,
so if some one else wrote it, kat had plenty of time to destroy the pic if she wasn’t happy with what was written. And matty is spot on with his remark ” OJ says he didn’t do it too”. I am not a miami ink supporter or a LA ink supporter, both shops are excellent tattoo artists with their own styles. But the facts are, Did she have probable cause ?. yes, Ami sacked her.. Was there
a wtness?. Yes to the item being handed over for its itended destination. As i said before, if she didn’t support this wording , then she shouldn’t of handed it over. Everyone is intitled to their opinion, and my opinion is she done it.

well both ami and garver are excellent artists ….. look at the portraits they have done…EXACT REPLICAS of the pics they were given as refrence….. whos to say either one of them couldnt copy her writing down to a t… hence the analysis of the writing …… Personally though i really dont understand y garver who was ment to be kats friend would do that
why didnt he just bin the photo he must have known the backlash it would cause so why the f*** would he do that? PUBLICITY! kat is a fantastic artist if her show has such a huge following here in f***ing ireland of all place then i doubt her ratings bombed in the states thats a load of shit dude

i dont know what’s going on, but i dont really think she’s going to ruin her own career drugs or no drugs.
im not saying she didn’t write it, but im not saying she did either. but if she did she’s a stupid girl, if not, she should have at least come forward and said ”that was just a rumour going round” or something like tha’ if you get me.

So lame, you can tell that is a dude’s writing. Why would Kat even have to make a racist statement anyway??? We all know she didn’t have to try hard to get back at him, her shop is already better and the show beat out Ami’s. Plus Ami shows every episode what a dick he is. I thought Garver and Kat were cool!!! Grow the Hell up!!!!

Even IF she wrote this signature, which I highly doubt, she may do and or say some (considered by cookie cutter normalcy) pretty stupid stuff, But there is no way she would write something like this to give to somebody. But the most important detail about this whole fabrication is, that IF Chris Garver was given this photo as stated by “TMZ” there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY GARVER WOULD EVER CONSIDER GIVING THAT PHOTO TO WHOEVER IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY DESIGNED FOR ESPECIALLY AMI. Garver would never get himself involved or let himself be a part of something like this. Garver is way to emotional and intelligent.

so watch both shows because they both have alot to offer. No one has ever said that you HAVE to like or respect a person in order to appreciate their talent or art. Would anyone really decide to never buy an album of really great music that you really love just because a member of that band said something you disagreed with or has different extremist views than you? Oasis were total and still are complete pricks and aholes but Im not going stop listening to morningglory because he’s called other bands I like names. That’s just stupid.

Even if Kat did write it herself, it seems - to me at least - to be written in a rather jovial manner. Something that can be perceived as this insulting from one viewpoint, can be seen as an inside joke from another depending on your viewpoint of the situation. Not only was it was signed with ‘XOXO’, but also with the word ‘Jewbag’ (which to me sounds like a more friendly insult - the same way that you might call a close girlfriend ‘Bitchface’ or ‘Hobag’; less insulting way and more by way of a familiar, jesting sentiment - one of those childhood-esque insults reserved for those close enough to you to handle the odd jibe (imho..). Either way, given that stance, it makes it appear far less sinister than it’s been portrayed thusfar. It seems more like a bad joke than anything, with a dubious culprit any way you look at it.

Sounds to me like perhaps the guys over at Miami Ink are just gutted that they lost a great artist, although having been a fan of the show for a while, even I find that a little off. It still sounds like more reasonable an explanation than the ‘Kat’s a racist’ claims though.. *shrug*

funny i have the same one from mother theresa saying the same thing haha
apparently garver got it from kat herself i thought they were friends

just wanted to say that I haven’t seen LA Ink (apart from a qick peep via the web) but I love Miami and all the guys, I also loved Kat when she was on the show and have only just read why she is no longer in the series….(just got sky tv recently so hadn’t had the pleasure previously) so when I realised Kat was no longer in the show I have searched the net to try to understand and obviously read all the hype surrounding the events and to be honest, I have no opinion as to whether she did it or not, but just think “eh everyone is a winner, the guys at miami are going strong and Kat has come out of it pretty damn good with her own show so”, I guess we will never find out 100% the facts and the truth but in the meantime I’m gonna just enjoy watching it and hopefully get to see LA Ink as well so even us guys as viwers are winners cos we get to see two great series of fantastic artists with som fab tats…so why bicker just enjoy :-)
