“Eleanor Rigby” is one of my favorite songs of all time, and it’s also one of the saddest, most depressing songs ever written. So, when David Cook “rocked it up” and the judges LIKED it, I was pretty upset. I mean, for crying out loud…he yelled “Whoo!” at the end of it! Also, when reflecting at all the world’s lonely people, one probably shouldn’t sound like he’s taking a dump.

Upon giving it another listen, it still upsets me. It’s not that I don’t think David has a shot at being the winner of Idol. He has a very bright future as being another Chris Daughtry or Chad Kroeger. And people like that. I just hated him on that song. It was one of the night’s better performances.
