Disney Will Make Miley Cyrus Disappear
Disney is not going to take chances! They are trying to save Miley Cyrus’ career by taking her out of the spotlight:
“You won’t be seeing her for a while,” a highranking Disney employee was overheard saying this weekend at a luncheon in LA, according to Page Six. “The company is keeping her away from events and wants her to keep a very low profile for the next four to six months. They’re trying to keep her contained.”
Leibovitz - who has caused stirs in the past with celebrity shoots for Vanity Fair - apologized for the controversy but defended her work.
“I’m sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted,” the photographer said in a statement released by Vanity Fair.
“Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful.”
The magazine, on its Web site, called the shoot, “a relaxed family event.”
Finally, I’m getting a little sick of the Miley Cyrus’ overdose! I think it’s smart to make her disappear for a while but can they make her parents disappear too!? Oh MySpace should definitely disappear… forever!!
The photo shoot being called “a relaxed family event” is what makes me wonder?? Kids take their tops off and wrap themselves in a sheet for a family reunion?? That is a very dysfunctional family!!

It begs the question, why can’t Americans raise girls without a ‘role model’ sanctioned by Disney and Co.? Role models can be found in decades worths of childrens’ books, and the beauty is that there is a transparency whereby the little girls can find themselves, not in a grinding media machine. If allowed, they will find them themselves. Try the Little House on the Prarie books, the Anne of Green Gables books, Nancy Drew, etc.
There are so many interesting books and stories to explore and mine, some interesting enough to capture an adult’s imagination, like the classic, ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ or Ray Bradbury’s ‘The Halloween Tree’. Frankly I think it’s unhealthy for mothers to be pointing at some Disney projection and saying ‘You be like her’ and mortgaging their house to buy all this stuff; or that the girl looks no further than Britney, the Ashley twins, now this girl, then the next…. for inspiration.
This perverse system makes a few young kids billionaires, their parents millionaires, and drives the debt and disillusionment of Americans, the adults and the kids who then feel they are failures because they are not ‘Hannah Montana’. It doesn’t even do so great for those ‘lucky’ kids. Look at Britney, burnt out and 26 going on 46. The Ashley Twins are just weird, like Howard Hughes crossed with Betty Davis in ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane’. Meanwhile, the conveyor belt moves on as a new ‘princess’ is groomed and marketed.
It’s a little creepy. We don’t have engenues anymore, like Audrey Hepburn in ‘Roman Holiday’ who then evolve into women, we have winking preening ‘tweens who then erupt into full on ‘hoochie-mama-itis’ about the age of 15. Next is the train wreck/social backlash and the burnout crash. Next girl please…
I agree to what Helena stated, but for those who don’t understand the reason why this photo is a big deal, it’s because since Miley is a Disney Star, and that her show is a hit to every kid in the world, she somehow has to serve as a good role-model, and especially since many young kids are all influenced by her, so when she blew a risky stunt by taking a sexy photo, though this may sound awkward, but kids may be influenced and might display similiar behaviors like that. THAT’S THE BIG DEAL.
Though, I agree with Helena as well, why can’t parents raise their kids without a role-model? if they desperately need one, why can’t the PARENTS be the role-model? there’s no one who can be a better role-model than your own parent, right? If any negative traits affect their children, the parents are to blame, since THEY are the ones who raised their children to behave like that.
I’ll be short but sweet. The girl is 15, regardless of the press if my daughter was to be caught like that, in real life or on the internet. I would be arrested. PARENTS ARE TO BLAME, like Jacqueline said. My two year old looked up to her. NOT ANYMORE. I don’t care after six months or 6 years. And what hurts people even more of a great country singer Billy Ray… well I think half of his fans.. well moved on. Nice going.
Miley needs to understand that her career can end just as fast as it started.
She has a lot of talent, but needs to be careful.
Yes, Miley has fame and can do things that most people can’t.
However, she must think about her career, and what some actions can do to it.
Her father needs to step in a bit if he has not done so already.

I really think that the photoshoot was not her fault.
For one, the photographer is a nut case.
She is a lesbo, and took pictures of her dying girlfriend.
>:P
Thats gross.
I think its a good idea to keep Miley out for a while, maybe she will realize what she has done wiith everything else, and become normal.
Finnaly!!!!!!!!!! disney is actually doing something. who knew? but as long as there is a cell phone camera, or a normal, horny guys, lesbians, and the internet, miley cyrus shall continue to spread her whore disease throughout the world, and this is nothing we can do about it.
