Katherine Heigl’s Ego Is Going To Take Over The World
It is no secret that I cannot stand Katherine Heigl. She makes my stomach turn! And her latest douchebaggery, if you can call accuse a woman of such a crime, does nothing to improve my opinion of her. She has declined the opportunity to be nominated for an Emmy because she was unhappy with how her Grey’s Anatomy character Dr. Izzie Stevens was written this past season.
“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization” decided against competing, Heigl said in a written statement from her publicist, Melissa Kates, who was contacted by the AP. “In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials,” added Heigl.
Let me be clear here. She didn’t decline the nomination, or the award. She has declined the opportunity to even BE nominated. As though she was already so certain she would be! Now I know she won an Emmy last year and all (which made me want to vomit) but come on! Is a little bit of humility and grace too much to muster up?
Oh well. I’m not sorry that you’re out of the way, Kathy - now maybe one of your far more talented coworkers will have a chance to shine. Sara Ramirez, I’m pulling for you!
