UPDATE: Amy Winehouse Health Watch
Amy Winehouse was released from the hospital on Monday amid the buzz that she had been diagnosed with early emphysema from smoking crack and cigarettes. Her father Mitch Winehouse had told the Daily Mail on Sunday
that his daughter’s crack and cigarette smoking had led to early-stage emphysema, and that the singer had an irregular heartbeat. He said she had been warned that she will have to wear an oxygen mask unless she stops smoking drugs.
“The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her,” Mitch Winehouse was quoted as saying. “There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity.”
However, he corrected himself today, stating:
“Amy really hasn’t got emphysema, there’s traces of emphysema. Obviously, if she doesn’t quit smoking, it’s going to get worse, like everyone else … with patience her lungs will recover completely.”
He added that she was covered in nicotine patches and is “flourishing” in response to treatments.
Amy’s rep Tracey Miller made this statement today:
“She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema.”
Wino was reportedly photographed with a cigarette in her mouth today as she left what is being called an “exclusive London rehab clinic” but The London Clinic - where she was reported to have been hospitalized - doesn’t even appear to have rehab services.

So bizarre. I am so done with her. As for her father, he and Mr. Lohan should start a club. Both are lying, manipulative, greedy con artists dazzled by the spotlight of their wayward offspring. His emphysema story has changed so dramatically in the space of a few days, from milking people’s empathy to realizing that people may just say ’shove off already’ and doing a quick ’spin’ that it’s nauseating. He lied to an manipulated his family (properly screwing up his daughter’s head). Now he’s trying the same thing on a larger audience. Just. Don’t. Care. Anymore.
