Heather Locklear Hospitalized For Depression

Actress Heather Locklear has announced that she is entering treatment for mental health issues at a facility in Arizona.

Her rep, Cece Yorke, issued this statement yesterday:

“Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment.”

Stressing that the matter is “confidential,” she refused further comment.

If it’s so confidential, why issue a statement?  In all seriousness, though, I hope for the best for Heather.  Good for her for taking care of her health!

Ah, this is so sad… She is off in a psych unit and the woman she took in and was kind to after the breakup of her marriage went after her husband, destroyed her marriage, betrayed and humiliated her completely. She was the victim of a sociopath, Denise; a sociopath who has no remorse, and is now on TV. So often it is the victims of narcsissists and psychopathic individuals who end up in ‘care’ when they are not the crazy ones, it’s the other ones.

It disturbs me about the drugs though. She needs time and to deal with the emotions, not to have them blunted or worse with psychotropic drugs that are pushed on women. They have many bad side effects. Witness Britney’s weight gain and belly. This is from the drugs and it does not go away easily when you stop. They also lower libido and have other bad sexual side effects that can really hurt your quality of life. They don’t ‘fix’ you.

Good reply (June 25th, 08). You summed it up perfectly…and you’re absolutely right about the drugs. They mask the problem…they don’t fix it.
