Michelle Williams ‘Dark Knight’ Boycott Rumors Untrue

Michelle Williams‘ spokesperson calls the Page Six and National Enquirer claims that the actress will boycott the premiere of The Dark Knight “absurd.” The New York Post reported

Williams was considering not taking Matilda Rose, the young daughter she shared with [Heath] Ledger, to the July 14 premiere of the Batman film in New York because she was “furious” with Ledger’s family over the handling of his estate.

Speculation about the disposition of Ledger’s estate began when it was revealed that his and Williams’ daughter Matilda was not named as a beneficiary in his will, which was written before her birth. His father, the executor of the estate, said shortly after Ledger’s death that Matilda “will be taken care of.” However, the Post quoted a source as “Michelle has seen nothing from them.”

The world premiere of the movie will be a tribute to the late actor, and his family is expected to attend. Williams’ rep says that”the presumption that Michelle ever intended to attend The Dark Knight premiere is unfounded.”
