Both a Spider-Man sequel and a spin off based on Venom are in the pipeline.

Filmsy.com reports on Spider-Man 4:

Sam Raimi said that writer James Vanderbilt is about to finish the script to the next sequel. Raimi has gone on to say that he is excited to read the script and he hopes that it is good enough that he will want to be involved again.

Sony is hoping to release Spider-Man 4 in 2011, as for Venom Empire.com says:

Jacob Estes (Mean Creek) has already been commissioned to write a script, although The Hollywood Reporter says that Sony may decide to pass on that script and is looking at new writers. With no script in place, there’s no news on which version of Venom the movie would follow. It could be Eddie Brock (played by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3, though Grace has not been approached to reprise his role), which would require some back-pedalling given the end of of Spidey 3, or it could be one of the later characters who are overtaken by the alien symbiote. If Sony was feeling particularly daring, it could even be a woman, based on the comic book lore.

Interesting stuff, but it looks like Venom won’t come until after Spider-Man 4. So now, all we can do is wait, and speculate.

Kate Hudson has seemed to already have moved on from Lance Armstrong already. We just found out yesterday that they had broken up…and today Perez Hilton has a source saying that Kate is dating her ex-boyfriend, hockey stud, Eric Lindros.

“Kate and Eric have been holed up at her parent’s [Goldie & Kurt's] house Muskoka, Canada,” a well-placed insider tells us. “She went there immediately after she and Lance ended things.”

Okay, am I the only one thinking that this is getting crazy? Jumping from one guy to another can’t be a good thing. I like Kate as an actress and I would hate for people to start saying bad things about her.

Angelina Jolie is reported to be after the role of Catwoman. This seems to be a solid piece of information according to News.com.au check this out:

(Angelina Jolie) is said to be in final negotiations with studio bosses to play the feline villain who first appeared in the Batman comics. 

It is not clear whether she would play the role in the current Batman film series, starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader, or in a spin-off film as Halle Berry did in 2004’s Catwoman. 

Actress Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in the Batman TV series from 1966 to 1967, has given her blessing for Jolie to play the part. 

“Angelina would own the part,” Newmar, now 74, said. 

“My industry friends tell me she has already made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love.” 

“She is tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess.” 

Wow! And with Johnny Depp playing the riddler? (read that story here) The sequel to ‘The Dark Knight’ is sure to be a huge deal, and getting Angelina seems like a perfect romantic choice with Christian Bale’s Batman. She’s so well suited as the femme fatal type character. The film has already grossed over $462.2 million worldwide, and it shows no signs of stopping!

Sharon Osbourne talked with Parade Magazine recently about life as a reality TV star and particularly her newest show, America’s Got Talent.    Sharon made the distinction between what she called superstars, celebrities and “people who I call ‘infamous.’”  When asked whom she would put in the latter category, she said:

Paris Hilton, who I know. She’s got a look that a lot of younger girls liked and copied but she has no talent. I’m sure Paris would tell you that herself. The timing was right for her. A lot of younger women looked up to her. She’s a very sweet, nice girl. But that’s it. Then you put a full stop. It’s over. So I’d say Paris is infamous.

Rumors of course are flying about what will transpire in the next Batman film. Check this one out from Hollyscoop.com

Johnny Depp is reportedly going to be a part of the next Batman installment playing the Riddler. And not only that, but execs want Philip Seymour Hoffman to play the Penguin.

I doubt the truth in the penguin rumor, because I distinctly remember Christopher Nolan saying that he was against the idea of using the Penguin in his Batman films, because of the character being too ‘far fetched’, but you never know. Depp as the Riddler on the other hand seems a more likely possibility, a good counterpart to Christian Bale’s Batman. But a bad guy as good as Heath Ledger’s Joker is going to be hard to match even for Johnny Depp. It’s far too early to tell right now, but there is obviously going to be a sequel. The Dark Knight has already made $462.2 million worldwide!

The producers of High School Musical have brought a new kind of movie, outside of school and into the mall. MTV calls it The American Mall. It features Ally, whose mom owns the music store in the mall. Ally, who is a singer/songwriter, meets Joey who is only moonlighting as a janitor to make ends meet for his music aspirations. Ally, must then fight and try and save her mom’s store when the mall owner’s daughter gets involved and will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

It stars Nina Dobrev, Rob Mayes, Autumn Reeser, Yassmin Alers, and Al Sapienza, just to name a few people.

You can bet that I will be glued to my television when it premieres on August 11th on MTV. It sounds like it will be a lot more fun having the movie in a mall. The singing and dancing looks amazing. And besides what girl doesn’t like the mall???

At least, that’s what Prince Harry was thinking, I’m sure, when he heard that his dad had invited Dita Von Teese to perform at his 24th birthday party.  Apparently Prince Charles met Dita at the Cartier International Polo Tournament last weekend. Then, according to the UK’s Daily Star:

Charmed by her alabaster assets, he asked what she did for a living and Dita, 35, replied: “I’m a dancer.”

This vague job description failed to convey that her act involves giving a rhythmic biology lesson in a giant martini glass and doing the sort of things to a massive olive which are illegal in most countries.

However, it was enough of a resume for Charles to extend an invitation, “explaining that his son loved a good dance.” Which Harry probably does!  Dita was reportedly “stunned when he suggested the idea,” and Charles was more than stunned when he realized what he’d done.

“…he gnawed his fist to within an inch of its knuckle when his aides explained what sort of dancing she did for a living.”

Too bad his staff told!  That would have been hilarious, and nearly as good as Stephen Colbert roasting President Bush at the Washington Press Corps dinner in 2006.

Guy Ritchie is heading a new campaign that makes sugar the bad guy. Guy is claiming that sugar kills more often than crack cocaine.

“Sugar kills,” Guy [says]. “Think of the calories in sugar. Fat kills more people than anything else. Sugar is responsible for a lot of deaths, arguably more than crack cocaine”

I kinda agree with Guy on this one. Sugar is an addiction too, it’s just more socially acceptable that we are hooked on it.

Amy Winehouse went to the hospital on Monday after going into convulsions.  Her condition was reported as a reaction to her detox meds.  However, her dad, Mitch Winehouse, doesn’t believe that for a second.  He is certain that one of his daughter’s entourage slipped drugs into her drink.  The Sun dishes:

“He’s certain someone put E in Amy’s drink — and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it.  He is convinced that one of her hangers-on was responsible and he’s waiting for a toxicology report to show what caused her to fit.

“If his suspicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy about Amy’s flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it.”

Papa Winehouse has “registered his suspicions” with the police.

He clearly doesn’t get it.  He’s missing the point, which is not that someone spiked Amy’s drink.  It’s that his daughter is an addict and shouldn’t be DRINKING!!
