Harrelson Joins ‘2012′, The End is Near
There is an Ancient prophecy from the Mayan’s that predicts that the apocalypse will befall the earth on December 12th, 2012. And of course they are making a movie about it. In fact, there are a couple movies being made about it. Colombia Pictures is making the big expensive one. Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 BC) is writing and directing the film. Woody Harrelson is onboard as the lead. He plays a researcher who opens a portal to parallel universe to make contact with his double to prevent the apocalypse. Harrelson told MTV:
“I play a guy who’s been talking for a long time, the whole world thinks he’s crazy. But he’s been talking that there’s gonna be hell to pay for what’s been going on ecologically and everything.”
Wow, so eloquent. Joining Harrelson in the film is a pretty impressive list of stars, John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Amanda Peet and Thomas McCarthy. Even with all that talent on board, after seeing The Day After Tomorrow, we can’t really expect a good film from this director, can we?
