Fandango has sold out 90% of this weekend’s shows of The Dark Knight starring Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. Fandango sells tickets to more than 15,000 movie screens. The other ticket website MovieTickets.com states that the film has sold out 700 shows and:

 To date, the pic has more than 3-times as many advance tickets as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, more than 2-times as many as Spider-Man 3 and almost 2-times as many as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the same point in the sales cycle.

From the way things are looking, the Christopher Nolan super-flick just might beat out Spider-Man 3 for biggest opening weekend of all time!
