Salma Hayek And Francois-Henri Pinault’s Engagement Off
Salma Hayek and fiancee, Francois-Henri Pinault, have called off their engagement.
“We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled,” Hayek’s rep said in a statement released to USA Today on Friday. “There will be no further comment.”
They were planning an amazing wedding in the South of France and just welcomed daughter, Valentina, in September of 2007.

That is so strange. How does one go from planning a multimillion dollar wedding to zip? I think that being a billionaire (high maintenance) he wanted Salma to basically retire and take care of him and be an ornamental trophy wife, even more a trophy because of her former accomplishments which she ‘gave up’ for him. I think Salma balked at that, having her creative wings tied and being a proverbial ‘bird in a gilded cage’. It is a double edged sword to be married to a man like that.
