It’s official, if you haven’t heard already, The Dark Knight had the biggest opening weekend in history beating the previous record holder Spider-Man 3. Here’s the breakdown:

1st – The Dark Knight rocked the box office this weekend like it’s never been rocked before. $158.4 million was it’s total three day gross! Read my full review of the film here.

2nd – Mamma Mia! took the next slot at $27.7 million.�

3rd – Hancock, held strong at $14 milion. Read my full review here.

4th – Journey to the Center of the Earth pulled in a respectable $12.3 million.

6th – Wall-E made $10 million.

7th – Space Chimps opened at $7.1 million.�

8th – Wanted made $5 million.�

9th – Get Smart made $4.1 million.

10th – Kung Fu Panda made $1.8 million.
