Christian Bale Issues A Statement About His Arrest
The Christian Bale story of him being arrested has been everywhere and since I have been following the story all morning I thought I would break it down.
Bumpshack reported that Christian Bale had been accused of assaulting his mother and sister in a “scuffle” at the hotel Christian was staying at on the weekend in the UK. Christian was there for the premiere of The Dark Knight.
Later, TMZ reports that Christian Bale had been arrested and was being questioned by police on the assault. TMZ paints Christian as being a horrible person. Yet, I hold off on the story because I know there has to be more to it.
People is now reporting that Christian was released from police custody and his lawyer has released a statement…
“Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister,” the star’s lawyers said in the statement. “Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.”
I am inclined to believe him. I think from the rumors I have heard that his family wants his money. (RUMORS people.) In another rumor posted on Just Jared…a commenter posted this…
His mom and sister are alcoholics and drug addicts, they showed up at his hotel uninvited and highly intoxicated. they were calling him big shot and that he needs to take care of his own. His mom was yelling that he would be nothing without her and he owed her. His sister was begging for money and when he was pushing her toward the door his mother came from behind and started hitting him on his head and kicking him. He managed to push them both out the door and his mom fell, they called the police and wanted him arrested. I believe that Chirstian is the victim here not his mom or sister…
I really want to think that Christian is all good in this case. He is a parent and a husband. And he has a great future in front of him. He couldn’t just throw it away for this….
UPDATE: TMZ has updated their website on the Christian Bale story…this is what they have to say:
We’re told Bale pushed his mom out of the way during the altercation. She was not hurt and did not fall down. There’s a division of opinion on whether the contact was a “push” or a “brush.”
It seems what was hurt most during the confrontation were feelings … nothing more than feelings.
I knew it!!!

I doubt Christian Bale would hurt his mom or sister intentionally..he seems like a kind light hearted person..I’m pretty sure he was only acting in American Psycho..

The mother sounds like a disturbed narcissist to me. After her divorce, she made her son choose between her and her ex. He went to LA with his dad and there has been jealousy/friction ever since. I think it’s evidence of how pathological she is that she chose her son’s hard-earned big moment to corner and try to shake him down with the help of her (obviously also frustrated, envious and jealous) daughter. The sense of rage/betrayal/frustration he must have felt in that hotel room cannot be underestimated.
Some families are pathologically destructive, narcissistic and borderline. She tried to annihilate her son and everything he built and worked for. I feel for him. It causes deep shame to come from a family like that. It makes you feel worthless and bad because they judge you unworthy of anything but shame and contempt.
