Snoop Dogg: Bollywood’s Newest Star?

When Snoop Dogg released his country music collaboration with Willie Nelson I cast aspersions on his randomness. I’ve changed my mind - now I think he’s just having a hell of a time. His genre-hopping has now reached new heights with his latest project: he’s recorded the title track for a Bollywood epic, Singh Is Kinng.

He worked with Akshay Kumar, “the reigning king of Indian films,” on the video, in which we get to see Snoop dressed in traditional Indian clothing. Producer Vipul A. Shah loves this collaboration.

“The most interesting aspect of the song is that one gets to see two very different styles – hip-hop with Snoop and Bhangra with Akshay,” says Shah. “Their chemistry was worth seeing as they’re superstars from two different worlds. To say the least, the video is looking brilliant!”

What do you think? Check out the behind-the-scenes footage!
