Angelina Jolie is Catwoman in ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel?
Angelina Jolie is reported to be after the role of Catwoman. This seems to be a solid piece of information according to News.com.au check this out:
(Angelina Jolie) is said to be in final negotiations with studio bosses to play the feline villain who first appeared in the Batman comics.
It is not clear whether she would play the role in the current Batman film series, starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader, or in a spin-off film as Halle Berry did in 2004′s Catwoman.
Actress Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in the Batman TV series from 1966 to 1967, has given her blessing for Jolie to play the part.
“Angelina would own the part,” Newmar, now 74, said.
“My industry friends tell me she has already made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love.”
“She is tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess.”
Wow! And with Johnny Depp playing the riddler? (read that story here) The sequel to ‘The Dark Knight’ is sure to be a huge deal, and getting Angelina seems like a perfect romantic choice with Christian Bale‘s Batman. She’s so well suited as the femme fatal type character. The film has already grossed over $462.2 million worldwide, and it shows no signs of stopping!

Angelina as Catwoman and Depp as Riddler? Snore. I love these actors but I really do not want to see the same handful of villains rehashed over and over again. There’s a myriad of great ones in the Batman series that would be much more entertaining to watch. The only character that should be recurring is the Joker, since he’s the ultimate antithesis to Batman.
Angelina Jolie as Catwoman sounds great to me, because for more heroic type characters a well known face works, and in attitude or previous roles she just fits the bill for this character.
However – and I might be the only one here – I’m getting tired of seeing Johnny Depp on screen. He’s done enough zany or wierd roles and I would be very worried that he’d do something overly quirky and stupid with the Riddler. Love the guy but this is one circumstance where I don’t think he’d be right.

How can anyone say they are tired of Johnny Depp but want to see Angelina Jolie as catwoman. First off the whole catwoman character is played out as it is! Secondly… Johnny Depp as played AMAZING diverse characters… truly gets into his role like no other. Angelina has been on the news EVERDAY for 3 years cuz shes making herself an orphan mother for publicity.. but you’re sick of J.D’s face right?! .. hmm makes sense.

Angelina has very mediocre acting skills, and although she looks the part she does not qaulify for the franchise. The Batman movies have set a standard that she can not meet.

i dont think either of them would be good. but director chris nolan has already said he doesnt want catwoman. he hasnt been clear about the riddler, tho. ive also heard rumors about the penguin, which are also untrue. if batman 3 isnt with new villains, it may have the riddler, in which case i really hope depp doesnt do it, because i think he’ll just go too far.
however if they do eventually make a nolan-bale-batman film with catwoman, ive heard kate beckinsale wants to do it, and she’d be perfect.
no no no, jolie does not fit the role of catwoman , maybe she would fit the role in one of those schumacher batmans , you know the campy colourful kiddy batman movies from the nineties, but not in this , so far this new batman franchise has starred some great actors , every lead actor was the pick of the bunch , so when you go and toss angelina jole in the third one , that’s like taking a crap in the punchbowl . no , im sorry if this were to happen , and im 99% sure it wont , the movie will stink.

Okay, maybe not just like that, but Milla is all about the action and whatever character she plays, she brings it out into our dimention so well you can smell the box office hit before it even screens!

In all honesty, I think they deserve the roles as much as anyone. Despite Jolie being on the screen everyday for 3 years due her and Pitts family circumstance should not affect her acting ability to portray Catwoman effectively. I think she could pull it off, easily. And Johnny Depp, in my opinion, is a good choice for the Riddler. My only concern with him is that he is good friends with Tim Burton, and Tim Burton Directed the first two Batman movies and helped out with the third and fourth – I wouldn’t want Johnny to portray the Riddler the same way Burton would have wanted the Riddler to be portrayed if he was still the director. Nolan is. However, Depp is a tremendous actor with a great resume. And to be honest, NO ONE thought Heath Ledger could have pulled the Joker off when he was confirmed to be cast. He certainly wouldn’t be my first choice – but look what happened. You never know what could happen or how great the actors could make the characters.
So yeah. Take that into consideration.
they both would be great personally johnny depp is a great character actor he could pull it off and angelina jolie it would be great i think people forget what a great actress she really is i mean look at the movies shes made.people forget cause shes always on the news but its for a good reason its not like shes alway partying or anything like that. she is one of the greates actress and she is a very dark person and i think she could pull it off and fit right in with the dark tone of the batman movies and especially if christopher nolan comes back it would be a great movie i dont think he would go the route of batman and robin just look at his films he is great. yeah they definitely should not bring penguin back that just would fit with this batman. or maybe they can just bring THE BLACK MASK he was supposed to be in the dark knight but then was written off
i just hope they keep it down to just 2 villains no more i am going to see batman 3 regardless of who is in it and i just pray that they do not bring in robin that would be the biggest mistake. and to the people that dont want any more batman films are just crazy batman is such an iconic character that there will always be batman movies to come for a very long time
Jolie is a boring actress. I’ve enjoyed the new Batman movies so far. I really don’t want to be disappointed in the new film. I think Depp is spectacular, but I don’t know how I feel about him as the Riddler. It’s not really like anything he’s done before though he’s so talented, I’m sure he can pull it off without breaking a sweat. But please, no Jolie. Of course her being a baby machine should have nothing to do with her getting the part or not, but she’s earned more fame from that than her acting which is subpar at best. So again, no to Jolie, undecided on Depp.

Hell no Jolie shouldn’t be catwoman. She is not good for that part. Don’t get my wrong she is beautiful but I don’t like her as catwoman. I like that girl from the underworld movies. Kate something.
