Hollywood Icon Paul Newman Only ‘Has Weeks To Live’

Eighty-three year old actor, film director and philanthropist Paul Newman has “finished chemotherapy treatment for cancer and has told his family he wants to die at home.”

‘Paul didn’t want to die in the hospital,’ a source said. ‘Joanne and his daughters are beside themselves with grief.’

Though he has declined to comment on his condition, Newman is thought to be suffering from lung cancer.  He was pictured leaving the New York cancer treatment clinic Weill Cornell Medical Center on July 31.

Newman enjoyed a Hollywood career of over 50 years before he retired in 2007.  He is a ten-time Oscar nominee, and won the Best Actor award for 1986′s The Color Of Money.   However, he is probably best known for his role in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969.  As of May 2007, he had donated over $220M to charity through his food company, Newman’s Own.   He and wife Joanne Woodward have been married since 1958.

Good thoughts going out to the Newman family…
