Penelope Cruz Thinks She’s Ugly
Penelope Cruz seems to be getting humble the more popular she is getting. In a recent interview with Parade magazine she was asked about her beauty secrets, and she answered…
“I don’t have any. I don’t think I am beautiful. I can look good and I can look ugly. What’s funny is that when I was younger I wanted everyone to look at me. Now I like to watch other people because you can learn a lot of interesting things.”
Being humble like that makes her more attractive. She has a beauty that I wish I could have.

Dahlink of course she thinks she is beautifulm and nothing wrong with that. One takes pleasure in one’s own beauty first. This is just media manipulation. Actors are not humble, only increasingly media saavy and cunning.
I would have actually have respected a less slick response, such as ‘I use shea butter soap every night’ or even something philosophically wise like something Sophia Loren once said that I always remembered because of its striking honesty. ‘If a woman believes in her own beauty, she is beautiful. She convinces others’.
I also remember a quote from Audrey Hepburn to the effect that one should dress oneself with an honest eye noting both what is good about oneself and what is not so good and then compensating. In her case, she knew her thinness was a double edged sword and she did not like her sharp angular collar bones, which is why she made sure that her dresses were designed to cover this - like the famous dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. That IMHO was a truly humble and honest answer.
I adore Penelope as a beauty, but she is slick.
