David Cook Rock Star

RCA has confirmed that David Cook, the rockin’ winner of American Idol Season 7 has been working with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo on his debut 19 Recordings/RCA Records album, which is currently projected to drop this fall. Cavello has worked with artists including Green Day, Kid Rock, My Chemical Romance, Eric Clapton, the Goo Goo Dolls and Dave Matthews Band. Besides taking a little time (haha) for that pesky American Idol tour, David has been in the studio co-writing songs for his album. His first single “Time of My Life” sits on the Billboard top 100 at #39 after 11 weeks on the chart. He is rumored to be dating former Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell.

On Tuesday evening, August 12, I went to the American Idol 2008 concert in Baltimore (THIRD ROW CENTER!!!). Although the first 9 Idol performers did a great job, the nervous anticipation for David Cook was palpable in the crowd. The crowd went nuts when he appeared and he did not disappoint. He was humble, funny, grateful, and in great voice. He is truly amazing. Can’t wait for that album!!
