‘Tropic Thunder’ Strikes ‘The Dark Knight’

 

The new Ben Stiller directed comedy Tropic Thunder is the film that finally dethroned The Dark Knight five weeks after its release. Star Wars: The Clone Wars couldn’t contend with the others, taking the third slot. 

1st - Tropic Thunder, raked in $25.8 million in its first weekend. 

2nd - The Dark Knight, while dropping to second place still made a solid $16.3 million. Read my full review of the film here.

3rd - Star Wars: The Clone Wars opened at a low $14.6 million. 

4th - Mirrors, opened with $11.1 million. 

5th - Pineapple Express, $9.8 million, Read my full review here.

6th - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, $8.2 million. Read my full review here

7th - Mamma Mia!, $6 million

8th The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, $5.7 million.

9th - Step Brothers made $4.8 million.

10th - Vicky Christina Barcelona opened to $3.7 million
