Rumors have been swirling around that Oprah Winfrey had booked Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin to appear on her show.� Because she’s a woman, right, and therefore should be interviewed by Oprah, rather than someone harder hitting like, oh, I dunno, Bill Moyers?� *eyeroll*� Anyway, it turns out it’s not true at all. � Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight that the rumors are “categorically untrue.”

“There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show,” she tells ET. “At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Oprah hon, you may not be using your SHOW as a platform for any candidates, but you certainly are using your FAME as a platform, and you can’t really separate your show from your fame.� I guess I respect her attempt at being non-partisan, even though I am sure a large portion of that decision is based on not wanting to offend viewers on either side, which makes her words just the eensiest little bit disingenuous, don’t you think?� Gotta keep those ratings solid.
