Johnny Depp Confirmed for ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel?
Well, it’s not a sure thing but Execs at Warner Bros. are clearly hoping Christopher Nolan goes that route. Check out what Michael Caine said:
Caine tells MTV that he asked a Warner Bros. executive, How the hell are we going to top Heath? He was told, Ill tell you how you top Heath Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.
I dont know if its possible to top Heath Ledger as Joker, but that combination certainly at least gives you a shot Except I dont really see this as any sort of casting confirmation. The unnamed WB exec never actually said they had them or were even pursuing them, it sounds more like he was simply spouting off about one of the potential ideas theyre bandying around. If WBs executives are smart though, theyll stop dreaming up casting combinations and sit on their hands until Nolan decides what he wants to do. Once Nolan decides he wants to do it, they should continue sitting on their hands and let him do whatever the hell he wants.
It’s just a waiting game at this point, I certainly hope Nolan isn’t pressured by the studio too much.

hey i might be the first person to write anything but thats because i care who plays the riddler and stuff like that.
but heres my 3 cents
1.) the riddle should be played by the one and only JOHNNY DEPP duhhhhhhhhhh………. hes like the best actor in the world…..
2.)catwoman should be played by hallie berry because when i saw catwoman i thought OMG she is awsome and that they should have a sequal but they didnt… darn…….
3.)the joker was phenomenally played by heath ledger and will be a tough roll to fill but they should get someone that has had experiance with looney toons before but someone that will also do a phenomenal job
Dude, you’re retarded. Johnny Depp is far from the best actor in the world. I love him too, but he’s not the best. Neither is he the best pick for the Riddler. In my opinion, David Tennant would both look and act the part of the Riddler MUCH, much better. Depp, since Pirates, is incapable of doing a film without putting Jack Sparrow in his performance. And sweetie, the Riddler is -not- a drunk Pirate. There’s no trace of that, so if Johnny can get that out of their system, sure, he can play dear Edward. Otherwise, Tennant needs to do it. He’d be perfect.
As for Halle Berry being Catwoman, that was a terrible movie in every aspect. If she wasn’t ridiculously hot she wouldn’t have a job after that movie. Terrible acting, terrible concept. Just terrible. She should -never- play Catwoman again.
As for the Joker, why would they want someone with Looney Toon experience? That’s just dumb. If they have anyone else as the Joker, it needs to be Daniel Day Lewis. He looks kind of like Heath, in a way, and was instrumental in helping Heath come up with the character to portray.
