Angelina Jolie Leaves ‘Salt’
Angelina Jolie may be leaving her great new role in Edwin A. Salt.
Jolie replaced Tom Cruise as the lead in the Phillip Noyce-directed project, which would have required the script to be retooled to accommodate the gender change for the main character — a CIA agent accused of being a Russian defector. The title would also have to be changed.
We’ve been informed that Jolie may have to drop out due to the needs of her newborn twins and thus might not be able to meet the picture’s start date. While it’s not official yet, Jolie’s departure from Salt certainly appears likely.
It sounded like a promising part for her, but with all those kids, it’s understandable. I wonder if Tom Cruise will be offered sloppy seconds, and if he’ll take it.
