Brad Pitt Donates Money To Fight The Gay Marriage Ban

I can’t believe how cool Brad Pitt is. He is donating $100,000 to help in the fight of the November ballot that will eliminate the right of gay people to marry. And I love his reason for fighting on this one…

“Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8,” the actor said in a statement.

And I agree too, people that love each other deserve to get married. Who are we to judge them? I think this is something that needs to be fought for. I may actually begin to like Brad now.

He just won himself a huge number of points in my book. Although what’s with the piddly donation? I’m sure he could give much more than $100K!!

So, the “No On 8″ headquarters is next to my apt. I went in a couple of weeks ago and donated what I could - they showed me around the place, and they are really great - so strong, so well organized. But outspent badly. If you can donate to these folks, even if it’s not a Brad Pitt 100K, please please help them out. Their website is no on 8 dot com, or something similar. They’re up against a lot of bigots and BS here in San Diego - I’ve already hit up my friends and family, so I guess it makes sense to tell you, internet, to give those guys money if you can. Not to get cheesy, but I was here when the gay marriage decision went through, and the first marriages started to happen, and it makes me so proud to be a californian, and hurts my soul to think about taking that away from people. Hurts my soul. Help the side of equal rights win, please. Peace and love. -Gabe
