David Blaine Hangs With Donald Trump
A while back it was announced on Backseat Cuddler that David Blaine would be hanging from his feet upside down with electromagnetic boots for 60 hours in Central Park starting September 22. He will only pull himself up for liquids and to restore circulation.
David recently spoke to reporters with Donald Trump about the task, which will be broadcast on TV in a special on ABC on September 24. (Donald owns the rink that David will be hanging over.) Here are some highlights from the interview:
David on being ready: “Although it is very dangerous, I don’t just jump up here and say I’m going to suddenly see what happens,” says David. “I’ve actually practiced it, but I’ve only gotten up to six hours. Six hours against 60 hours is a lot different.”

Donald on David doing this: “I have learned from David. You would really think that some of the things he’s done are not physically or mentally possible,” says Donald. “You can do things in your own mind that you don’t think you can do.”
David on preparing for the task: “I stopped eating about a week ago, so I dropped about twenty pounds, which makes it easier on the body, and I don’t have to go to the bathroom number two,” he confesses. As for all the liquids he’ll be drinking, David says he’ll use a catheter.
David on why he is doing this: “The point of all these things is I think we can endure much more than we think we can. Like, I think we can take everything – we can turn our world upside down, but we can still endure because human beings are amazing,” he says.
The tickets are free to go see David so if you are in Central Park around those times go see him. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
And about David the magician, I think that he is good at the close up magic…where Criss Angel is better at the far away ones. I really used to be obsessed about David and was stunned when he held his breath for over 16 minutes. I know Criss has done demonstrations like David used to…I miss that in Criss.
