New Mozart Music Composition Found in Paris Library

Now this is pretty cool.  I always dig news that reminds us how big of an impact our historical footprint can be.  A completely new & original piece of composition by Mozart (I love the fact that I just bold-faced Mozart like I would Amy Winehouse or Britney Spears) has been found in a library in western Paris, France while staffers were digging through archives.

“It’s a melody sketch so what’s missing is the harmony and the instrumentation but you can make sense out of it,” he said. “The tune is complete. It’s only one part and not the whole score with eight or twelve parts.”

“One can really get a feeling of what Mozart meant although we do not know how he would have orchestrated it.” [source]

The coolest part?  It’s been certified that the historical composer who many say fathered the concertante genre of classica, hand wrote the piece of music!  Imagine finding a piece of paper that Wolfgang Amadeus himself not only touched but toiled over writing music notes?

Ok, I’m a history geek.  Guilty.
