Paul Newman Dies At The Age Of 83

It’s a sad morning today, Paul Newman succumbed to his cancer on Friday and passed away at the age of 83.

Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as an activist, race car driver, popcorn impresario and the anti-hero of such films as “Hud,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “The Color of Money,” has died, a spokeswoman said Saturday. He was 83.

Newman died Friday of cancer, spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic said. No other details were immediately available.

In May, Newman he had dropped plans to direct a fall production of “Of Mice and Men,” citing unspecified health issues.

I think that the world has lost one of the most amazing actors in the world. Many including myself thought he would live forever. It’s hard to think that a great person could be mortal.

I loved Paul Newman in The Color of Money. I could watch that movie over and over again…

Our thoughts are with the whole Newman family today.

it’s hard not to admire Paul Newman for putting his money to work in such productive ways, such as his Newman’s Own line–high quality stuff and the proceeds go to good causes… very smart.
