NEW MUSIC: Whitney Houston feat. Akon – “Like I Never Left”

I love a good song title like this. One thing I can’t stand when an artist makes a comeback, is when their single has too much to do with their personal life. When your life’s already been displayed on tabloid headlines, I don’t need a soundtrack to it. Keep the topical for people like me: bloggers. So appropriately enough, I love that this track makes you think it’s all about Whitney Whitney Whitney, when in fact the Akon-assisted ballad plays like a theme any woman who wants their man to take them back (after leaving… get it?) can relate to.

It’s beautifully-produced with surprisingly subdued vocals from Houston (but that’s a good thing. We don’t always need a power vocal circus *ahem* Mariah), and while I’m doubtful it will get much club attention, it plays as a beautiful chapter II to 1998′s “My Love Is Your Love”

Check it out!
