‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Winner Joshua Allen Wants to be a Singer

Turns out that Joshua Allen (the hip-hop dancer who won this season of So You Think You Can Dance) really dreams of being a singer. Why didn’t he audition for American Idol then?

Allen told The Fresno Bee this week that his dream profession might be behind a microphone, as opposed to on the dance floor.

“Overall, I want to be a recording artist. I want to be a singer,” Allen said. “I still want to push my dancing career. And I believe if you want to be a good dancer, you have to be well-rounded. You really have to know your stuff. At an audition, they might want a hip-hop dancer who can do pirouettes.”

So he wants to be a singer and a dancer who can throw down some killer pirouettes? Interesting.
