Levi Stubbs, Four Tops Vocalist Passes Away at 72
After a jam-packed weekend of DJing wedding and club events, I was a little sad (and nostalgic) to learn that original Four Tops vocalist Levi Stubbs passed away at his home Friday (10/17) evening. As a part of the Motown-iconic group, the Tops sold over 50 million albums and scored 45 chart-topping hits including “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)”.
Stubbs also lent his voice to one of my favorite films, 1986′s Little Shop of Horrors as the foul-mouthed, carnivorous Audrey II.
The crooner is survived by his wife of 48 years and five children.
Rest in peace!
