A Footloose remake??!! Why mess with a good thing, I ask?  Alas, Paramount is about to do it.  Production begins next spring, with none other than HSM darling Zac Efron in the lead role - originally played by Kevin Bacon in 1984.

Apparently Paramount is pulling out all the stops to make this movie a success, “offering the 21-year-old star a “mid-seven-figure salary” and script approval.”   The movie will be restyled as more of a musical than the original, which I suppose means that we can count on Zac singing the title track.  Will they get Vanessa Hudgens to sing “Let’s Hear It For The Boy”?
