Jennifer Hudson Creates Foundation For Families Of Murder Victims
Jennifer Hudson and family announced the creation of The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims in honor of Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and 7 year-old nephew Julian King, who were fatally shot last week.
“The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime,” the family says in a statement. “This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling.”
Donations to the Hudson-King Foundation can be sent:

New York, NY 10001
This announcement was followed by a prayer vigil on Wednesday night at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church, where Jennifer Hudson reportedly sang and prayed for the first time, in Chicago.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who spoke at the vigil, told PEOPLE that Hudson, 27, and her family “are overwhelmed by the suddenness and the unexpectedness of it all. This family knows triumph, and they also know tragedy.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family that is and will continue suffering from this big tragedy for a long time. This foundation is a good way to deal with the tragedy and help others in the same situation.
