Wanda Sykes Comes Out Of The Closet
There were many protests staged around the US yesterday all about the fight against Prop 8. I know that I am so disappointed that they passed it. If gays and lesbians love each other don’t they have a right to get married? Wanda Sykes being moved about the whole situation has decided to go public and announce she is gay.
“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life…Everybody that knows me personally they know I’m gay. But that’s the way people should be able to live their lives…Now, I gotta get in their face. I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be a black woman, and I’m proud to be gay.”
I have to admit that I didn’t see it coming. But when she was on the Halloween episode of Ellen Degeneres a couple of weeks ago she seemed really happy in her skin. Congratulations!
