As we review celebrity news over the last year, we take a moment to remember those to whom we said goodbye in 2008.� Here are just a few.

Heath Ledger (April 4, 1979 – January 22, 2008).� His career was just beginning its upward arc when it was cut short by an accidental drug overdose.� Nearly a year later, we still miss him.

Charlton Heston (October 4, 1924 – April 5, 2008).� Before he became the National Rifle Association’s most famous spokesperson, he had a long and glorious Hollywood career.�� He died at home, with his family.

Tim Russert (May 7, 1950 – June 13, 2008).�� Celebrated journalist Russert was NBC News’ Washington Bureau Chief and host of Meet The Press.� His sudden heart attack at age 58 was tragic indeed.

George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008).� The great stand-up comic and fan of those seven dirty words you can’t say on television was the first person ever to host Saturday Night Live.� Thanks for the laughs, George.

Bernie Mac (October 5, 1957 – August 9, 2008).� Just 50 years old when he died of pneumonia, the Emmy-nominated actor and comedian left behind a legacy of movie and television work that will never be forgotten.

Isaac Hayes (August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008).� He was one bad mother… shut your mouth!� Hayes’ voice was the very definition of smooth.� What more music might he have made?

Paul Newman (January 26, 1925 – September 26, 2008).� Academy-award winning actor, generous philanthropist, maker of delicious salad dressings… Paul Newman was a king among men.

Richard Blackwell (August 29, 1922 – October 19, 2008).��� Mr. Blackwell’s Worst Dressed list was a January must-read for 48 years.� What in the world will the New Year be without his signature fashion critiques?

Eartha Kitt (January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008).�� Once described as “the most exciting woman in the world,” Eartha Kitt played Catwoman to Adam West‘s Batman.�� Her signature song, Santa Baby, took writing a letter to Santa to an entirely new level.

To these and the many celebrities who passed away in 2008, rest in peace.� We will miss you all.

Barack Obama is enjoying his vacation in Hawaii it seems…but for all the hard work he did campaigning I think that he deserves it. On Monday, he went golfing. I don’t usually like to golf but seriously, Obama makes anything look fun! I bet he’s trying to squeeze in as much vacation time before his Inauguration when he won’t stop working for four or more years.

Britney Spears‘ brother Bryan Spears (there they are above out on the town together)�is reportedly set to marry his girlfriend, Graciella Sanchez, in a New Year’s Eve ceremony.� Sanchez is manager to her soon to be sister-in-law, Jamie Lynn Spears.

It appears the wedding will take place in Louisiana, and it sounds rather rushed.

“It is going to be a very small, private ceremony…They only planned it about a week ago.”

Do you hear the sound of shotguns being cocked?� I sure do!

Jennifer Garner and husband, Ben Affleck, might be starting 2009 off with a new baby. Jennifer was spotted yesterday having coffee with a friend. And today reports are saying that Jennifer and Ben went to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Judging by the size of her bump and how long she’s been pregnant (and that she’s smiling, which I would be doing too) they may be having a New Year’s baby. This will be the couple’s second baby. Their first baby Violet is 3 years old. We’ll keep you posted.

With all this talk of Mariah Carey carrying a sonogram and sources saying she’s pregnant, Mariah herself has decided to tell us all she’s not pregnant by not saying a word.

Mariah was spotted with husband, Nick Cannon, in St. Barts while on vacation Tuesday sipping red wine and eating oysters. Both are considered no-nos during pregnancy.

Kids are up for them in the future with Mariah saying that Nick would be a wonderful father…

“I couldn�t imagine anybody that I�ve ever met being a better dad [than Cannon],” she said earlier this year.

I think they would have cute Hello Kitty kids and they would be decked out in pink. Hopefully, she would have a girl to teach all her fashion tips too!

Actor Matt Dillon was caught speeding down the highway on Interstate 91 in Newbury, Vermont on Tuesday night and was promptly arrested by the authorities.

Law enforcement sources tell us Dillon was pulled over going over 100 MPH on Interstate 91 in rural VT, and had to be arrested because he was going so far over 65. We’re told if he’d been doing 80-90, he could’ve gotten by with just a ticket.

At least Matt was sober (which is no excuse for speeding!) but he still didn�t escape the humiliation of having his pretty mug shot all over the internet today. Actually I think he was enjoying the photo shoot way too much� that�s the closest he has got to the spotlight in a long time!!

Paris Hilton took it old school for the Bongo Virus New Year’s Eve bash press gig earlier today in Sydney, Australia. She is hosting the gig tonight and has been hanging out in the land down under with new BFF Brittany Flickinger. What’s up with the tie-dyed Indian print dress? And could it be any more low cut? It’s not like the girl has any boobs, but why show off your protruding chest plate? Maybe her terrible wardrobe is one reason America hates poor Paris.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly off to Ethopia to adopt another baby, which makes the family happy. But the family is also dealing with the fact that they may never have another biological baby again. Because of Angelina’s last two pregnancies were filled with complications she has been advised to wait for a while before trying to get pregnant or not to get pregnant at all.

“Her previous pregnancies ended with emergency caesarian secions,” an insider tells OK!. “She’s been told that, at the least, she should not get pregnant for a year after her last deliver, and it would be safer if she did not get pregnant, ever.”

A doctor, Dr. Larrian Gillespie, who has not treated Angelina says there are huge complications that could arise that could effect Angelina directly.

“Angelina is at risk of having a stroke or heart attack, and because she developed gestational diabetes, there is a high risk she’ll have it again, with the child being at risk for diabetes.”

It’s always so hard to know what you should do when that clock starts ticking in your head. Even after everything though Angelina said she loves being pregnant.

“It makes me feel like a woman,” she said. “Also, I happen to be with someone who finds pregnancy very sexy.”

Hottie Kim Kardashian and her gorgeous New Orleans Saints boyfriend, Reggie Bush, went sale shopping yesterday at the Burberry store in Beverly Hills, among many other places.

Reg looked absolutely studly in a grey button down cardigan and black wash jeans. But Kim’s outfit was not as flattering… The tight t-shirt and leggings weren’t at all forgiving, and the sleeveless drapy sweater didn’t really help. On the plus side, her bangs are so totally hot it makes up for a lot.
